low tide, lots of people and what looked like clean 4.7m weather. Port tack though, so I knew my sailing was going to be crud. Added to that, I was completely phsyched out by the influx of vans that had travelled over from beaches that don't like easterlies.

Rigged my 4.5 and was powered most of the time, but could have done with a bit more, particularly in the white water. Big rip dragging you down wind, but not a problem due as planing most of the time. A little bit of backside riding which was fun and some great jumping off the backs of waves (starboard). Got slightly more comfortable being airborne on port, but nothing that could have counted as a credible jump - either straight legged or nose diving/wiping out. Good seesion, good conditions, just not good performance
